Dear OLLI members,

We hope you will take advantage of the Free Advanced Care Planning Workshop here at the Reuter Center in the Manheimer Room on Thursday, October 18 from 7 to 9 pm.  This is an opportunity to ask questions about advance directives to a panel of experts.  The ongoing TRIAD series of lectures at 2:30 pm on Monday afternoons is another learning opportunity.  We feel fortunate to live in a community that is aware of the diversity of the needs of older adults and to have partners like Mission Health and the Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging to provide education and support.

Remember that we are still collecting new or gently used children's books for one of our Leadership Asheville Seniors group projects. Collection boxes are located in both the upper and lower levels  of the Reuter Center, and all books will benefit the Asheville City Preschool.

Thank you for the many ways you work with us to provide opportunities to thrive, to stay in touch, and to keep learning in "life's second half,"

It's nearly Annual Member Survey time!

Survey guy Here at OLLI we're committed to providing the best experience possible by addressing your lifelong learning needs; you can help us do that via your responses to our annual survey.

These will reveal, among other things, how you feel about us, what you believe we're doing well, where...if at all...you feel we might do even better, and your course subject preferences.

This year's survey, which starts on October 22, 2012, is shorter and even easier to complete than before. Last year, an outstanding 55% of our members participated...we'd like to raise that percentage even higher in 2012 to be certain a broad range of members are represented. We will send out a separate email with a link when the survey process begins

Remember, your opinions count and will play a role in our planning as we move forward!
