Women's Leadership Conference 2013

Thank you, Women Leaders!

Mercy's 2013 Women's Leadership Conference was a huge success. It was a tremendous day of showcasing the power of women and specifically the power of Mercy women. The day began with a theater presentation, launched by a viewing of Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg's TED speech. A panel discussion led by San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White '82 and attorney Alexandra Stathopoulos '03 followed the video presentation. The discussion centered on how women can "break through the glass ceiling", and take their careers to the next level.

Our alumnae participants then facilitated break-out sessions with the current student body as they discussed the professional landscape for women in 2013 and into the future.

The day wrapped up with a wonderful luncheon in Rist Hall for all of the participants. Thank you to everyone who supported the event!

Stephanie Mazely
Alumna of the Month

Each month, The Skipper Report will feature one of our Mercy sisters as Alumna of the Month. We look to recognize alumnae who are doing exciting things, or who have made exceptional contributions to their chosen field or profession. We welcome your nominations for future Alumnae of the Month. This month, we are proud to showcase Stephanie Mazely, Class of 1983.

Stephanie Mazely, Class of 1983

Stephanie has always embodied what it is to be a woman of Mercy. Stephanie graduated from Mercy (with high honors) and went on to attend the University of California at Los Angeles where she earned a BSN in Psychobiology. Stephanie then went on to earn a BSN in Nursing from the University of San Francisco with a specialty certificate in Neonatal Nursing.

Stephanie, a registered nurse, works at UCSF's Benioff Children's Hospital where she provides care to critically-ill neonates, coordinates the Critical Care Nursing training programs and runs the hospital's Neonatal Resuscitation program, providing staff education and certification in NRP.

Since graduating in 1983, Stephanie has continuously supported Mercy, San Francisco in a multitude of ways and was honored for her service as a 2008 Mercy Society inductee.

Stephanie Mazely, an exemplary woman of Mercy!

Alumnae Annual Giving
Mercy High School Marquis

In 1963, Mercy's tuition was $300 per year. Thirty years ago, in 1983, Mercy's tuition was $2,000 annually. In 2013, tuition is $15,000 per year. As the cost of a premier education increases, Mercy continuously works to provide affordable, academic excellence to a diverse community of young women. We look to our alumnae community to help us meet the goal of ensuring a Mercy education for future Mercy girls! We challenge each alumna to give just one dollar for every year the school has been open. That's only $61! On-line giving is easy, convenient, secure and of course tax-deductible!
