Any church may have a mighty man or woman of God for its pastor,
if it is willing to pay the price,
and that price is not a big salary, but great praying.

Jim Ritter (Pastor at Watsontown Baptist Church, Northumberland Association)

On Tuesday (4/28), I will be having knee surgery...again. The healing from the first surgery did not go as planned (long story - please don't ask); and a corrective surgery is very much needed. Following this, I will be at my dad's for..."a while" (could be 4 weeks or so). Dad has a one level ranch, and this will be the best place for me to recover.

Prayers for the surgeon, the anes....anesthes... the "gas passer", the nurses, me, Mary, the daughters, Dad, the meds, recovery time, and all etceteras are and will be VERY much appreciated!

People in the capital described scenes of panic and collapsed buildings, and the United States Geological Survey predicted severe damage to villages near the quake's epicenter, about 50 miles from Katmandu..."

Remembering our ABCUSA Missionaries...

Carlos Bonilla and Mayra Giovanetti are working with the Baptist Theological Seminary in Nicaragua, accompanying them in the program of informal theological education in the churches of the Baptist Convention of Nicaraguaand as writers of curriculum material for the Seminary. They have been long-term missionaries serving through our mission society since 2000. They and their children live in the land of lakes, volcanoes, poets, and contrasts.
