ABCOPAD Prayer Update
April 17, 2015

The Discipleship and the Holy Spirit Conference has begun in Milton, PA, hosted by First Baptist. Quoting Dr. John Piippo --- "There is a difference between decision making and discernment. In decision making we decide what's best. In discernment, we work to discern what God has already decided He wants to do."

Before we can pray, "Lord, Thy Kingdom come,"
we must be willing to pray, "My kingdom go."

Robert Rice (Pastor at Muncy Baptist Church, Northumberland Association)

I have a couple of updates I want to share with you this morning.

Yesterday, I was able to take a few minutes and stop to see Linda Beth. She has been on quite a roller-coaster ride with her finger, but the end appears to be in sight, as the doctors have finally gotten things under control, and she should be going home today with antibiotics to take. We praise God that He has prevented the infection from spreading further and that nothing more serious needed to be done!

Shaun Bartlow has asked that we would continue to remember the Somits family in our prayers. Shawn was the young man in our community who committed suicide a few weeks ago after suffering from PTSD. This has been a difficult time for his wife Daisy, and children Faith and Wesley. So please, lift them up to Jesus for His healing and peace.

Lord, You walk beside us as we rejoice and as we feel deep sorrow. Whether we walk through green pastures, or through death's dark valley, You will be with us. O Lord, Shepherd our hearts today. We praise You for the healing You have given Linda, and we ask that You would continue to strengthen her body and fight off this remaining infection. We lift up with heavy hearts the Somits family as they continue to mourn the loss of Shawn. We know Lord that You are close to the broken hearted and can bring comfort and peace even in the midst of trial and tragedy. Draw Daisy, Faith and Wesley close to You. Wrap your arms of love around them even now, and give us grace to minister, as we have ability and opportunity to them, and to all those in our community who need Your love, hope and peace. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
