(On Sunday) the Mission Team worshiped at First Baptist Managua. It was great being with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nicaragua!

Prayer is not merely an occasional impulse
to which we respond when we are in trouble.

Prayer is a life attitude.

Robert Rice (Pastor at Muncy Baptist Church, Northumberland Association)

I have a number of messages to share with you today. I'll be doing a lot of travel over the next three days, and spending time at a conference in Milton starting today through Saturday. I may not be able to respond to your call or email right away, but I will get back in touch as soon as possible. Thanks for remembering me in prayer.

Linda Beth had a round of antibiotics yesterday in the hospital that helped with the infection, and she seems to be in good spirits after some visits yesterday. Continue to pray for her, that God would heal her of this infection, and continue to encourage her heart.

Sometime ago we prayed for Matthew Schlicher who had a mass on his spine. The good news is the spine is not as large as expected, and it is not cancerous. They will not do any surgery. Thank you for the prayers and we ask that God would help relieve Matthew's pain.

Continue to pray for Bonnie, as her count is low and she was unable to have chemo yesterday. She is still receiving radiation.

Remember over these next weeks, Junior, Dani and the rest of the family. This is a crucial time of temporary visitations and final decisions will be made on May 18th. Pray that truth will clearly shine in all of this, and that decisions will protect and be in the best interest of Dani.

On Sunday, we prayed for Josh Fredrick, a young father who had cancer. Yesterday, I met with Josh Fredrick's family to plan for his funeral service. Along with his parents, and siblings, he leaves behind a wife and three children (3rd-7th graders). I am sure that the Lord is calling us as a congregation to uphold and lift up this family in prayer and support, even beyond services this weekend. Please pray for them and as the Lord directs us, we will work to love and hold them up, bringing them closer to God during this difficult time.

Father God, sometimes we are overwhelmed by the number of people and circumstances that You place on our hearts. We can easily be burdened down, thinking we can't do this. The truth is, we can't do this, but You can. So this morning, as we come to You in prayer, overwhelm us with Your love and grace. We would lift up Linda and Bonnie as they deal with these health issues. We ask that You would give strength to them, and that You would touch their bodies with healing. We are grateful Matthew's results were good, but continue to bring Him relief from the pain.

Father, You are truth. You alone have the words and power of eternal life. We ask that Your truth shine in decisions made for Dani, and we ask that Your truth and hope would shine brightly during Josh's service. We pray for comfort for Emily and his children, and for the family as they mourn the loss of Josh. We lean on the promises that those who call You Savior and Lord will know eternal life, and we ask that You give hope during this time. Lift us up and uphold us this day, and this weekend. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
