ABCOPAD Prayer Update
March 31, 2015

It happened over this past weekend, during the Camp Carmel Winter Retreat in western ABCOPAD. Pastor Darrell Edgar, senior pastor of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Smithfield, PA, presented a $750 check to Pastor Dana Wiles, lead pastor of Redeeming Grace Church in Uniontown, PA.

The check was made possible through the generous giving of American Baptist Women under a program they call ReFit Funds. The check is facilitated by our own Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, national and regional director of new church planting.

Redeeming Grace Church was birthed out of Mount Moriah in 2013. They moved out of a local hotel's conference room and into this new space on their one year anniversary, back in the fall of 2014. Their vision as a new church is to reach 20-somethings for Christ.

Mark Mahserjian-Smith (ABCOPAD Interim Regional Executive Pastor)

On April 1st, ABCOPAD Regional Executive Minister, Rev. Dr, Frank Frischkorn will celebrate his 21st anniversary being called to Regional Ministry.  Pastor Frank is currently on sabbatical.  He and his wife, Carolyn, are preparing for their journey to Ireland starting mid-April.  Please keep Pastor Frank, Carolyn, and their family in your prayers, as they prepare for this adventure; and may they continue to be refreshed and restored during his time away.

Delonte Reeves (Pastor at Greater Faith Baptist Church of Coatesville)

Tonight I ask for your prayers, as my aunt has gone on home to be with the Lord. Rest in peace, Bonita Richardson. I love you.

Sherry Willison Armstrong  (Member of FBC Sharon, Beaver Association, and Member of the ABCOPAD Regional Board)

Have received word that my grand daughter, Amanda, was taken to the emergency room of the hospital close to her campus... experiencing chest pain and breathing difficulty. Not sure if she is to stay for admittance or not. She's had a rough first year of college. Praising God for giving her a loving roommate this semester... who not only drove her to the hospital, but missed classes today to stay with Amanda! It's been a long day for both Amanda and Katie. Would ask all who are so inclined to pray for a quick conclusion of tests and some explanation for this difficulty breathing

March 28:  Baby Mark Update: He's still in the Georgetown Hospital. There is some debate as to what exactly Mark has, but the current thought is that it's likely bronchiolitis with a touch of pneumonia. He's doing better than yesterday and the doctors say that if he takes his antibiotics orally then he may be able to come home tonight or tomorrow morning. This is great news since this morning Chrissy was told that they may be staying a few more days. Mark is still very sick and his big sister, Alice, is sick too. She has a bad cold, ear infection, and pink eye in both eyes. Please continue to pray for Mark, Chrissy, Steven and Alice. Your prayers are appreciated more than you'll ever know.

March 29:  Baby Mark is home safe and sound with his Mom, Dad, and big sister Alice. He was released from the hospital last evening. Please continue to pray for them because he's still on antibiotics, but at least the family is together. Much love to all of you from me for your faithfulness. God is good...all the time...God is good.

Beverly Frank (Pastor at Emanuel Baptist Church of Donora, Pittsburgh Association)

Please continue to keep Pastor Beverly in your prayers as she undergoes cancer treatments.  Pastor Beverly posted this update on Facebook:  When you ask me how I am, and I tell you that I am good and feeling really positive, please don't say to me, "Well there's gonna be days when you aren't feeling so good, and you'll be feeling down." Believe it or not, I already know this. If I tell you I am feeling good, be happy for me! Rejoice with me. Dance on the mountain top with me.  This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad today. Ps. 118:24
