civil disobedience kit Charlotte News front pages
The Charlotte Museum of History has been offering items from their archives to schools.  Countryside was the lucky recipient of many treasures including a Civil Rights Movement Traveling Kit (top photo) and these historic front pages of the Charlotte News.  Special thanks to Lindsay VanLoon, High School English teacher for securing these priceless pieces of our city and nation's history.

Join the Countryside Volunteer Corp!

All Countryside families are invited to join together and serve our community by being a member of the newly formed Countryside Volunteer Corp.  Several times throughout the school year we'll gather to help needy causes/programs in Charlotte.  Our first effort is with Habitat for Humanity.

Saturday, January 26 we're going to serve on the "Punch Crew"  for a new home on Amay James Road.  That means we'll be helping with last minute touch-ups before the home is turned over to the new owners.

We need 6-8 people working on two shifts:   8:00 am - 12:00 & 12:00 - 4:00 pm

Families helping families.   What a rewarding experience and a great way to start 2013!

Please email Sian Kolozvary, Countryside's Community Outreach Coordinator if you can help.
