Debby Haugh, Founder of Countryside Montessori School still carries her Montessori spirit of helping others
into retirement.  She sent us this message:

Debby Haugh volunteering
Ms. Debby in the foyer at Lake Trafford Elementary School in Florida where she volunteers once a week.
"For the last year I have been volunteering one day a week in an at-risk school in Immokalee, Florda.  There are about 30 volunteers that are picked up at a meeting point in Naples by a school bus.  We then travel east for about an hour to Immokalee, which is a town with migrant and full-time residents who work mainly in the orange groves.  The classes are small but the teachers do not have teacher aides.  I work as a teacher's helper with first and second graders.  The students are very sweet and polite and the teachers are so appreciative of the extra hands.  It is quite rewarding for all of us; some folks have been volunteering for many years."
