EXTRA, EXTRA-- READ ALL ABOUT IT!

American Honda Foundation Grant After visiting our teacher resource center, the American Honda Foundation approved our grant for the full amount of $60,000! This grant is being obtained for the purpose of acquiring STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) product for our store. Needless to say we are all pretty excited around here! The goal will be to obtain the product this fall and have it ready to go for all teachers by the first shopping visit Spring semester, 2015. |
Run For Your Life
Join us for the Kettering Rotary Club's Run For Your Life 5K and 8K Challenge. The run will be held on Friday, October 24th. The race will be held at the Community Golf Center in Kettering. Registration is now open. Registration is $20 before October 14 and includes a long-sleeve, custom-logo t-shirt. Participants also have the option to upgrade to a technical t-shirt for just $5 more. The first 150 registrants will receive an official race day goodie bag. On October 15, the cost to register increases to $25. The 8K Challenge is back for runners who think they can complete 5K in under 25 minutes. Challenge runners will run the 5K and then continue on the course for an additional 3K. Those entering the Challenge will compete in both the 5K and 8K races. Two races in one! Participation in the 8K Challenge requires pre-registration and a $5 additional fee.
A costume contest will be held prior to the race. Runners must be present at 5:30 pm for the judging which will take place near registration in the Solomon Pavilion. The judges will award prizes to the top three costumes in both the children (12 and under) and adult divisions (13+). Creativity is encouraged! Stay for the fun after the run is done! There will be a race after-party at the Community Golf Center with music, refreshments, awards presentations, and raffle prizes. The event proceeds will benefit DC2C!

Register for Shopping Days
We would like you remind you that you are only permitted to shop on days that you have registered for, so be on the look out for a confirmation email that signifies that you have successfully registered. We respectfully ask that you leave children and unregistered friends at home. Shopping days are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3-6pm. We cannot wait to see all of you teachers here at DC2C!

Yoobi
Through our papartnership with the Kids In Need Foundation, DC2C have recieved Yoobi Classroom Packs to distribute in our teacher resource center! Yoobi products can also be purchased at your local target. Yoobi is a new school supplies brand that engages kids through bright colors and cool designs, and for every item purchased Yoobi donates another item into a Yoobi Classroom Pack; this means that a Classroom Pack will be given to a Kids In Need Foundation affiliate to distribute to their own resources. Yoobi's goal is to donate free school supplies to over 30,000 classrooms throughout the 2014-2015 school year! To learn more about Yoobi visit their website at www.yoobi.com.

We appreciate your support of Crayons to Classrooms, and therefore would like to extend to you the opportunity to learn more about our organization. Please join us for a Lunch and Learn session, where you will hear about our mission, accomplishments, and plans to grow while enjoying some lunch. Come and see what we do at DC2C. A tour of our store and our warehouse will be provided. Did we mention that lunch will be free?
We have 2 "Lunch and Learn" sessions scheduled from noon to 1 pm on the following dates:
