Dear Loyal Customers,
Sometimes hard choices have to be made and unfortunately this is one of those times. After much deliberation we have decided to close our store in Los Angeles, Berger Beads Specialty Co. when our lease ends on November 30, 2014. We are a fourth generation family owned business and have been available for all your beaded needs for over 75 years. This closure is heartbreaking on so many levels. We know that many of you have been customers for many years and share special memories of shopping here as a child or when you first started to make your own jewelry. This makes our closing extra tough for us. We have really enjoyed being a part of the community here in downtown Los Angeles since we opened our doors in 1939. We greatly appreciate your patronage and we cannot thank you enough for shopping with us all these years.
With regards to our uncertain future, all we know for now is that we will be moving from our current location due to rising rent costs as we do not own the building. We plan to reduce our overhead and restructure our business to be more efficient and streamlined. During this month of November all merchandise will start to be removed from this location, however our website will be up and running until the 30th. You are welcome to call us at (213) 627-8783 to see if we still have the merchandise you need before coming down or placing an order online.
The merchandise that we decide to keep will be moved to temporary storage until we find another store front here in Los Angeles. We will continue to sell online via our website and we strongly recommend that you join our mailing list or follow us on social media to learn about our plans as we enter the new year. You will want to make your last trip to our store before the end of November and get all the supplies you will need for any on-going projects. Everything in our store will be heavily discounted until we close, so please don't wait, come get what you need before its gone.
This has been a difficult decision for our family but we are hopeful that these changes will lead to a new chapter for us, our employees and most importantly our customers. Check back with our website for news and updates. Until closing we will continue to offer 50% off all merchandise in-store and online. Our customers have been the most valuable asset of our business and we dearly love you all.
