An Employer's Guide to Annual Group Health Plan Notices

Commonwealth Benefits Group, in association with United Benefits Advisors (UBA), has created a template that includes up-to-date samples of all of the required federal annual group health plan notices.  We recognize that some employers include additional notices in their open enrollment packets, and this is permitted.  Do make sure that you update any additional notices as needed (for example, the special enrollment opportunity that applied when coverage became available to age 26 for dependents and lifetime dollar limits were prohibited has expired.)

UBA has created an Employer's Guide To Annual Group Health Plan Notices that summarizes the distribution requirements and provides some instructions for completing the exchange notice.  A
Sample notices with instructions is also available for your reference.  This includes information regarding the important Exchange (now called the Health Insurance Marketplace) notice.  The deadline to provide this notice to employees is October 1, 2013.
