Luxe Design Trends: The Accent Wall
|
Ah, the accent wall.... Once the province of decorative wallpaper or a contrasting paint color, the accent wall in single and multifamily interiors today is more often designed with natural stone, steel, wood, glass or even ceramic tiles arranged vertically, horizontally or in random patterns to create a focal point that not only provides contrast but evokes an emotional response. The choice of material can be as simple and inexpensive as everyday plywood or consist of rare African hardwoods or imported Italian or Brazilian marble & granite. Regardless, the point is to design an element that demands a person's attention the moment they enter a room. Today the accent wall can also be functional. It can visually connect one living space with another, serve as a room divider, be used as an extended headboard, or even serve as a visual anchor to an adjacent wall of glass to the outdoors. Below are several examples of unique accent walls.

Luxe Word from the President: 92% of Buyers Use The Internet First
|

The evidence is clear. Luxury buyers and luxury renters now use internet listing services like Luxlisthome.com more than ever before to find potential properties that match their interests. A 2013 NAR survey found that 92 percent of home buyers in June/July 2013 who purchased a home had used the internet to search for their home. Not coincidentally, a 2013 Turner Research study also found that the majority of renters (65%) in 2013 had also used the internet to locate their rental of choice. These behavioral trends continue to support our view that our targeted approach to the electronic listing and search for luxury real estate is the best and most efficient way to connect qualified luxury buyers and luxury renters with luxury properties that will meet their criteria. Finally, we are pleased to announce the addition of Better Homes & Gardens to our Luxe List listing catalogue. Now a Realogy brand, the company began operations in July 2008, and currently boasts a network that includes approximately 7,000 sales associates and hundreds of offices that serve homebuyers and sellers in more than 20 states. Welcome aboard Better Homes & Gardens.
Although there are a variety of residential websites available, Luxe List Home is the only one that empowers visitors to sort by quality. Even more importantly, Luxe was derived from our customer's feedback which focused on the factors most important to them when they search for their very best home options. From that customer input we were able to derive our patent pending scoring methodology which enables us to certify listings as definitive luxury homes ensuring only the best of the best is showcased on the Luxe List. www.luxelisthome.com
As a reminder, all homes, condos, and communities are showcased on the Luxe List are by invitation or nomination only. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you live in or know of a property you think should be included on one of our existing or upcoming city lists. If it's not yet on our radar and as a result of your nomination, we invite and include it on our list, you will receive a special gift!
