KY Home Performance: Out and About
Like those first crocuses in the backyard, KY Home Performance (KHP) is reaching out to make itself known among homeowners and industry leaders this spring season. Contractors might be hearing soon from some of the hundreds of homeowners who attended last month's New Home and Remodeling show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Show-goers were universally impressed with the new 4.99 percent loan offering and the "KHP Pays Your First Three" promotion. Homeowners will keep the KHP contractor list in mind when cooling season upgrades and replacements are needed in the coming months.
KHP also had a strong presence at the recent Midwest Residential Energy Conference in Lexington, where both program representatives and KHP contractors met with some of the industry's best educators and practitioners. Once again, this well-attended event was evidence that the home performance industry continues to gain momentum, both in Kentucky and nationwide, and provides the best solutions to homeowners needing energy efficiency, health/safety, and durability.

New Contractors, New Partnerships, and a New Training Center
KHP has always had strong partnerships with energy utilities across Kentucky, and we are now teamed up with Big Rivers to offer low-interest loans from reputable contractors to members of its three co-op providers. A new group of KHP contractors attended a training this month at KHC's Training Center in Frankfort, where HVAC and insulation contractors were able to take advantage of the center's many on-site resources. The new facility is in the final phases of becoming an Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC)-Accredited Training Center and an approved Building Performance Institute (BPI) Test Center, and features an array of live mechanical units and fully-configurable pressure boundaries to simulate a wide range of field scenarios. Trainees left the one-day KHP session confident in their ability to conduct KHP field audits and to close more deals using KHP loans.
