KHC Offices Closed

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 27-28, in observance of Thanksgiving. KHC will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 1.

All of us at KHC wish you a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Third Party Originator Closings

No closings will be scheduled for Thursday and Friday, November 27-28, 2014. Closings scheduled for Monday, December 1, need to be sent to KHC by 10 a.m. ET, on Tuesday, November 25. Closings scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, need to be sent to KHC by 10 a.m. ET, on Wednesday, November 26.

Delegated and Correspondent Lender Closings with KHC Funding DAP

In order for KHC to fund the Down payment Assistance Program (DAP) for a closing on Friday, November 28, or Monday, December 1, the request for the DAP funding must be received by 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.

Effective with the roll out of our new reservation system in September, both Delegated and Correspondent Lenders can now fund the DAP with their own monies. When KHC purchases the first mortgage closed loan, KHC will also reimburse the DAP loan monies.

One benefit of the lender funding the DAP is a no waiting period for wiring of the DAP funds. Once the loan is approved, the lender can close the loan. Secondly, it decreases staff time in handling additional steps in our system.

Form RD 3555-21 Fillable Version Now Available

On Monday, December 1, 2014, Form RD 3555-21, Request for Single Family Housing Loan Guarantee, will replace Form RD 1980-21. USDA will not accept Form RD 1980-21 with requests received on or after December 1.

KHC is a Tobacco-Free Campus

Governor Steven L. Beshear issued an executive order for all executive branch state buildings and properties to be free of all tobacco products and e-cigarettes effective November 20, 2014. As a quasi-governmental agency, administratively attached to the Finance Cabinet KHC has followed the governor's initiative to become a tobacco-free campus.

If you or your staff attend meetings at KHC, please be mindful that use of all tobacco products is prohibited on KHC property.

Additional information regarding the governor's tobacco-free initiative is available at https://tobacco-free.ky.gov/.
Take A Stand

The Coalition for the Homeless launched a massive awareness campaign inviting all Louisvillians to take a stand (#TakeAStandLou) to end homelessness in Louisville. November is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month. On November 13, volunteers held up signs across the city to take a stand against homelessness, and every Louisvillian can get involved by posting a photo of themselves holding a sign that says, "I am here to take a stand" with the hashtag #TakeAStandLou. For other ways to get involved, click here: http://louhomeless.org/?p=2973.
