Web Site Tips

Just found something on the web site that I didn't know was there. I am supposed to giving you help, and obviously, I missed some important stuff. Log onto the web site and click on HOA INFO. Then click on HOA Services and next click Read More under Useful Information. Clever titles, don't you think? There is all kinds of information about trash collection and recycling. There are charts telling you what can be recycled, email addresses for further information, and phone numbers.
As long as you are in the area, click on the other topics and refresh your memory about the Patrol, the Accounting Department, the ALC Department and the availability of a Notary. Given the fact my memory seems to be fading, I better follow my own advice.

Board Elections On The Horizon

If you are thinking about running for the Board of Directors, there is one important date you need to be aware of: Nominations close at the end of the business day on Friday, September 18, 2015.

There will be two chances to meet, listen and talk to the candidates. On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, a "Meet The Candidates Day" will be held in the Ironwood Clubhouse at 1:00 pm. On Wednesday, September 30, 2015 "Meet The Candidates Night" will be held in the Oakwood Ballroom at 7:00 pm.

This is a great way to learn where the candidates stand on various issues and to learn about their backgrounds.

Garage Sale

The Garage Sale is Coming

The Community Garage Sale is November 7, 2015 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A list of participants will be available at the Oakwood Clubhouse before the Garage

Sale and at the gates the day of the sale. You can sign up to participate at the Oakwood Clubhouse or online on the web site. Sign up by Wednesday, October 28, 2015.

Patrol Has New Digs

The Patrol Office has a new home. They have moved to the old Ocotillo Room, right next door to their old office. The phone numbers and the office hours are the same. Stop in for a visit.

Racquet News

Tournament on the Horizon

The USTA Southwest Region sponsors an adult age group tournament series called the Southwest Slam Series.This is a definitive section "surface" championships with indoor, grass, clay, and hard court tournaments being held to determine just who the best all-surface players are in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Competitions range from the 35s level all the way up to the 75s level.

These four Southwest championship events are Level 1 Tournaments for adult age group ranking purposes and unique opportunities for players to test their skills on a variety of playing surfaces.

You may not know that the clay event is played right here at IOTC.This year's event will be played beginning on Thursday, September 24th and will conclude on Sunday, September 27th. Players come from all over the Southwest region to compete in this event. Set aside some time during this tournament to come to the club and watch some very competitive tennis. Please email jbrowne@slhoa3.com if you would like to play in this tournament or if you have any questions.

Golf Expo

Mark Your Calendars

The Golf Expo will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from
10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Participants will be able to test clubs from Ping, Cleveland, Callaway and other national brands. There will also be several representatives demonstrating golf carts, golf bags, shoes, range devices and golf accessories.

Why not do a little holiday shopping early for your favorite golfer or yourself?

On Saturday, September, 26, 2015, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, there will be a disposal of medications held at the Sun Lakes Posse Office. No needles please. The Posse Office is located at 9531 E Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, Arizona. For further information, call 480-895-8751

Crystal Awards

Crystal Award Nominations Open

The Crystal Awards purpose is "To publicly acknowledge outstanding Sun Lakes volunteers working toward the betterment of Sun Lakes." Anyone may nominate someone they feel deserves this prestigious award.

Nominations opened September 8, 2015, and close November 20, 2015.

Winners will be announced in early December.

The Awards Banquet will be held at the Oakwood Clubhouse
on Sunday, March 6, 2016.

Questions regarding the Crystal Awards may be directed to Sandy Applegate at 895-2738 or pick up a Crystal Award Nomination Packet in the Information Hallway of the Oakwood Clubhouse.

Shredding Party

TrustBank offers Shred- A-Thon for the Sun Lakes, Ocotillo and Chandler Community

TrustBank of Ocotillo is excited to announce The First Annual Shred-A-Thon. This year's event will take place on October 24, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Sun Lakes Fire Fighter's will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers at the event for donations to their charity S.L.E.R.F (Sun Lakes Emergency Relief Fund). The Shred-A-Thon will be located in the Fulton Ranch Parking lot in front of the TrustBank Office at 4913 S. Alma School Rd., Ste. 5 Chandler, AZ 85248.
