On those rare days when you have nothing to do, do you ever wonder how a community this large can make a decision? Well, guess where you can find the answer. Sign into the website and click on HOA INFO. Click on Board of Directors. In that list of choices

that magically appears is one that says HOA Decision Making Process.

I'm guessing that is what we want. Now keep in mind I'm guessing so cross your fingers and click. Up pops a chart kind of thing with graphics, boxes and arrows to show just how things get accomplished around here. It is amazing the amount of organization we have and how many areas are involved in every decision that affects all of us. Quite an adventure, don't

If you are thinking about running for the Board of Directors, there are some important dates you need to be aware of: Monday, September 1, 2015, Nominations Open; Wednesday, September 9, 2015, a Workshop for potential Board candidates will be held at 1:00 pm in the Bradford Room of the Oakwood Clubhouse. Nominations close at the end of the business day on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Nomination Packets are available at the clubhouses or may be downloaded from the IronOaks Website.

This is a great way to serve your community. Don't hesitate. Being a Board member is both rewarding and educational.

The Garage Sale is Coming

The Community Garage Sale is November 7, 2015 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A list of participants will be available at the Oakwood Clubhouse before the Garage

Sale and at the gates the day of the sale.

Message From Patrol

CONTRACTOR'S DECAL

IRONOAKS has a policy that allows any contractor to be registered with the HOA. This gives them entry to the Community to perform their services. When they register with the Patrol Office, they are required to sign a certificate stating that they will abide by the Rules and Regulations of the HOA. They are supplied with a large "C" decal that they place in the lower left hand corner of their vehicles.

These decals must be renewed each year. Right now, you will see a red 2015 decal above the C. Starting in January they will be required to purchase a green 2016 decal. We have approximately 475 registered contractors that enter frequently. The decals DO NOT open any gates. All contractors are required to enter the community through a manned gate. Please do not use the SENTEX System to let them in through the N. Dobson Gate.

House Painting

If you are thinking of having your house painted, here are a few things to consider:

Prior approval from the Architectural Landscape Department is required before your painter begins the job.
The office has color charts and sample chips of the current approved stucco, trim, and door colors. There is a wide variety of color suggestions available.
Masonry walls, fences, and mailboxes must be painted the color of the body (stucco) of the house.
For your protection, always hire a licensed, bonded painting contractor.

Friday Night Tennis Social

The September 11, 2015, Tennis Social Sign-up sheet is now available in the Fitness Center lobby. Join Jenny and Kwong for the last Friday night social of the summer. We will be recognizing Patriot's Day, enjoying fresh food and, of course, fun tennis as well. Please put your name and level of play on the sign-up sheet. The $5.00 fee is to be paid at the front desk. We are looking forward to a great night!

Pickleball Update

The first "Quick Play" Pickleball Social Tournament hosted by the IronOaks Fitness and Racquet Center will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am with food, prizes, and lots of fun! Please sign up in front of Jenny Browne's office with your name and your partner's name as well as your level of play. Please put your level of play as one of the following:

A/B, B/C, or C/D.

This social tournament will be limited to the first 16 mixed doubles teams, so sign up soon! Sign-ups close on September 14, 2015, and the round robin schedule will be posted by 2:00 pm on September 15, 2015. More details of this event can be found on the sign-up sheet. There is a $5.00 per person charge that is to be paid at the front desk.

Tennis Members

A member may renew their membership early (now) and the new contract will

still start when the old contract ends. This will allow members to continue placing their booking requests for future dates. Please keep in mind that after renewing your membership, you will be able to book your name into the system, but you may find that you are unable to book the other players in your group. If this occurs, it is because the other players have not renewed their memberships. In this case, please put "guest" in for one of your players for now. As you get closer to the date of play (and everyone has renewed), you will want to go back in and put in the other players' names.

Crystal Award Nominations Open

The Crystal Awards purpose is "To publicly acknowledge outstanding Sun Lake volunteers working toward the betterment of Sun Lakes. Anyone may nominate someone they feel deserves this prestigious award.

Nominations open September 8, 2015, and close November 20, 2015.

Winners will be announced in early December.

The Awards Banquet will be held at the Oakwood Club House
on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
