Web Site Tips

Clipart Woman Computer
Do you know the hours you can park on the street?  How about age restrictions at the community pools? Did you know we have speed limits in IronOaks?  When can you put your garbage can out for pickup?  These are just some of the questions that are answered in the IronOaks Homeowners Association Rules and Regulations.
Now before you say, "I don't have a copy," I will tell you, "yes you do."  Log onto the web site and click on HOA INFO. Scroll down the left side until you reach Governing Documents.  Lookee there! The second one from the bottom of the list says "Rules and Regulations-Code of Conduct 3-13". Changes to that document are listed at the very top of the list where it says "Rules and Regulations (Approved 7-23-14)"
No excuse! All the rules and regulations are living on our web site.

Weed Alert! Weed Alert!

By now you all know the equation RAIN = WEEDS. While we all welcomed the amount of rain we got last Friday, we can also be sure that weeds will follow. Please have a look around your property in the next week to be sure you have no unwanted green things growing in your yard. If you are gone for the summer, be sure to contact your home caretaker so that he or she can look over your landscaped areas. Thanks! We all want to keep IronOaks looking its best.

Message From Patrol

PROTECT YOUR ANIMALS

It has been reported that there are quite a few coyotes wandering around on the golf courses and in our community. This is a common occurrence, and one that we cannot stop.
SO BEWARE!

Do not let your pets wander loose, especially at night. Cats and little dogs become tasty food for a hungry coyote, especially when they have young ones that they are trying to provide for any young ones. Keep your pets home and safe.

Bird and Animal Sightings in IronOaks

Mr. amd Mrs. Kaiser live on the 8th hole of the Lakes Golf Course. For  the past several days they have been observing a family of foxes coming in and out of the bushes. Apparently they have a set routine.  Mom appears and checks to make sure the coast is clear, and then the 3 babies come out for a little fresh air.  Mom shoos them back to the bushes and  goes on her search for food for herself and her family.

As was reported last week, a family of owls is nesting in the palm trees at the main entrance to the Oakwood pool. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Werner, Patton, was able to get a photo of the "kids" keeping track of all the golfers and folks going into Poolside.

A big thank you to all who sent in pictures.  We really appreciate your efforts and it has been a great deal of fun looking at all of them!

Golf Course Maintenance Report Update

May 2015

Spring is here, and summer is right around the corner! With warmer air temperatures comes warmer soil temperatures as well. Once the soil temperature is warmer than 65 degrees, the Bermuda will start coming out of dormancy. This basically means that the "brown" grass will be turning green again. This is already happening in many areas. I will do everything I can to promote this process as much as possible by slicing, spiking and verti-cutting.

Along with warmer temperatures, the Bermuda grass will need plenty of water to start coming back. I have been increasing the irrigation scheduling across the board, as well as watering the roughs more often. I will be applying granular fertilizer to the roughs to help speed up the growth which will also mend some of the "bare" areas on the Palms nine. Any of the open trenches that currently don't have much grass will fill in this summer.

The Lakes nine closed for renovations on May 11th. There will be no mainline or lateral pipe installation on the Lakes. The current sprinkler heads, along with the swing joints, will be replaced and repositioned. New irrigation controllers will be installed with wireless communication to the maintenance yard for computer operated irrigation. All Mainline and lateral line gate valves will also be replaced. The street crossing from hole 6 to hole 7 mainline will be replaced with HDPE pipe which should last for many years, and will eliminate the fear of having another break under a major street. The good news is, there will be no trenching needed to do this work. All of the bunkers will be renovated. Some bunkers will be eliminated and converted to "grassy hollows." Tees will be leveled and enlarged in some areas, and new forward tees will be built.

I look forward to another successful summer and I am excited about the renovation project. We will continue to help the transition process to the warm season grass to provide the best playing conditions for our golf membership.

Lakes Course Closed

For the safety of everyone, the course will be completely off limits to homeowners that live on the Lakes course, and those who use the course for access to the pro shop. There will be open trenches and numerous other hazards all over the golf course.
