Fitness And Well-Being Equals Happiness

In the Corporate world, more business owners are investing in Fitness and Wellness programs for their employees. A recent study from Fidelity Investments and the National Group on Health, found that employers will pay each employee an average of $693.00 per year as an incentive to participate in wellness programs. That is an increase from $430.00 five years ago. This data shows that employers know that if their employees are healthy, are not overweight, are fit and happy, they cost the company less money and are more productive.

At the IronOaks Fitness Center we understand the importance of exercise and wellness for those still working and those who are retired.

As a matter of fact, as we get older, exercise is more important than ever. We need to maintain muscle, prevent osteoporosis, increase our balance, and prevent falls. Not to mention keeping up with

our Grandchildren.

IronOaks has qualified staff, appropriate equipment and a wonderful atmosphere to fulfill all of your fitness needs. If you are not currently a member.

we invite you to stop by to talk about how we can help you!

Attention All Pickleball Members

The final Rating Clinic for this season will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at 1:00 pm.  Please attend this rating clinic if you do not currently have a Pickleball rating and would like to participate in Organized play.  (Currently, players with no rating have to play in the Organized "D" time slots only).  If you currently have a rating, but have shown significant improvement in your level of play, please feel free to come for reassessment.

IronOaks Fitness and Racquet Club promotes these rating clinics in order to create the best use of the 2 courts we have available.  With our limited space, it is important that we give players multiple ways to interact.   Organized play allows players of the same level to play with each other, while the Non-Organized play allows players to book courts for their own groups.  We appreciate your support.

Meet The New Tennis Pro, Kwong Young

Kwong is originally from Binghamton, New York.  While attending college he met tennis team member, Steve Howland.  In exchange for tennis lessons, Kwong tennis-items.jpgtaught the game of billiards to Steve.  Within two years Kwong was consistently beating his teacher and quickly took over the #2 spot on the tennis team.

After college he began teaching tennis to local students. In 1987, Kwong moved to Tempe, Arizona. He has taught at John Gardiner Tennis Ranch, Phoenix Jewish Community Center and Kiwanis Park. Along with teaching duties, he also strings racquets at the Tennis Cabana.

Kwong and his wife, Marji, live in Ahwatukee with their two Beta Fish.
Kwong's favorite advice to give players is:

"Never watch the ball, instead
stare at the ball"
