FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Faye Stone as the new General Manager of Sun Lakes Homeowner Association No. 3 (IronOaks). Since taking the position of Controller last spring, she has earned the respect of all who have worked with her. She is very familiar with the business side of all of our operations, and has established a reputation for accomplishment.

     As you probably know, the Board has been conducting an external search for a new General Manager since Clark Champion announced last September that he would not stay past the end of his current employment contract. While the search has been proceeding, a number of negative developments have occurred: Food & Beverage financial conditions worsened, and we experienced unusually high turnover in key staff positions. Finally, Clark vacated his position earlier this month. The Board has been keenly aware of these developments and feels this situation must be addressed quickly.

     Over the last few days, it became apparent the recruiting effort was not going as we hoped. Therefore, we decided to broaden the search to include looking within the organization. Faye came to our attention. She has Associates and Bachelor's Degrees in Business Administration; she has prior experience acting as a GM for a community that included F&B operations. She managed a good turnaround of our financial department operations under significant stress. Perhaps most importantly, she is regarded to possess exemplary planning and implementation skills, and a "get it done" attitude.

     We are confident Faye can do what needs to be done, and pleased that she has accepted our offer. She has a lot of work to accomplish quickly. Please join us in providing her all the support we can.

 

Please plan to attend your Board meeting on Wednesday, February 25 where I can personally have the opportunity to introduce you to your new General Manager Faye Stone. John Porter your President.
