A Message From Patrol

GOLF CART SAFETY

It has been noted that golf carts seem to be going full speed when going through the parking lots in the Community. Several ladies have complained that they were nearly hit as they exited their cars and started walking across the parking lot. Golf cart drivers should always be courteous and careful when around congested areas. Remember, your cart can go a lot faster than someone walking.
Parking lot speeds  should be no more than 5 mph.
Be safe, and be a responsible driver.

PARKING ETIQUETTE                                           New

Parking spaces in and around the Oakwood Clubhouse are limited. To make the best use of these spaces, we all have to be aware of how we park our vehicles, whether they be golf carts, vans, cars or trucks. Many spaces are lined for both golf carts and cars. If you are in a golf cart, you are to park between the two, narrow lines making sure there is enough space for another cart to park next to you. If you are in a car, you park between the two widest lines. Most importantly, whatever type of vehicle you are in, stay between the appropriate lines and make sure you are parked straight.

Weed Watch  simple-grass-graphic.gif

Weeds are opportunists that take root wherever they can find the space and catch a few rays of sunshine. We, as homeowners, must take the opportunity to do everything we can to see that none of these pesky plants sprout on our property. Please survey your home surroundings and eliminate any weeds you find. The ALC Department thanks you in advance for keeping our community looking beautiful.

Looking for a notary? Tammy Mason and Faye Stone are Arizona notaries. They are available in the accounting offices located in the Arts & Crafts building Monday through Thursday from  8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please bring your identification and do not sign the document. Rake Placement in Bunkers

Ever have your ball roll into a trap only to find that your ball has rolled into the sand and against a rake placed parallel to the edge of the bunker? Your shot out of the bunker probably got harder because it is too close to the grass edge. To help minimize this issue, we ask that our golfers simply lay the rake in the sand near the edge, perpendicular to that edge ( 90 degrees to the grass). This should allow the ball to roll deeper into the bunker allowing an easier shot out of the bunker.

If the ball is caught between the rake and the bunker edge, and moving the rake causes the ball to move, you must replace the ball. Placing the rake perpendicular to the edge will help in avoiding this problem. A stroke penalty may occur if the ball is not replaced.

Friendly Reminder To All Golfers

Over the past couple of weeks we have noticed that our range ball supply has diminished substantially. At the beginning of the season, we had enough range balls to fill up the ball bin, with extras to spare. This past week we barely had enough to fill the bin to three quarters full. This means we are missing close to 2500 yellow practice balls. The balls and wire baskets are leaving the range area. Please refrain from taking practice balls and /or wire baskets with you if you haven't finished your bucket.

If you have at least a half bucket left, bring it to the Proshop, and you will receive a free token for your next bucket. The range balls and buckets represent a substantial investment of funds from the Golf Operations Budget.  As such, practice balls and buckets are the property of the HOA and Golf Operations, and should not be removed from the practice facility. This prevents golfers from having enough balls available to have an effective practice session and requires additional "rolling pick-ups" by our range staff.

Let's leave the buckets and balls where they belong....at home on the range!

Homeowner Satisfaction Survey

LAST CHANCE TO TAKE ANNUAL HOMEOWNER SURVEY

We want to hear from you

The survey will close on line on February 11, 2015, and paper copies will be picked up at 4:00 p.m. the same day.

As of February 2, 2015, about 1200 homeowners had completed the survey online. That is over 25% of the homes in IronOaks. Your input is important. With a new general manager soon to be named, it is important for homeowners to let their opinions be known. The survey results will help the Board, Management, and volunteer homeowner committees make decisions which reflect community desires.

The online survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete. If you receive "Stay in the Loop" and have not yet completed the survey, please check your inbox. If you would like to read the survey  before taking it, please click below.

If you have friends and neighbors who do not receive Stay in the Loop, please remind them paper copies are available at the Ironwood and Oakwood clubhouses.
