A Message From Patrol

Patrol Reminder

Now that our winter visitors are back, we are seeing increased traffic everywhere. There are several Rules and Regulations that are being violated, probably due to lack of knowledge. Here are a few reminders:

  1. No parking on the street at night without special permission from the Patrol.
  2. Bring your homeowner's card with you when visiting the pools.
  3. Children must be at least 15 years old to use the main Oakwood pool during the hours of 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm only.
  4. Golf carts are motor vehicles and are required to stop at all stop signs.
  5. It is a $100.00 fine to illegally park in a handicap space.

Mobile Patrol can be reached at 480-494-6508. Please call if you need information.

Ad Hoc Oakwood Park Committee

shiny-tree-button2.jpg Ad Hoc Oakwood Park Committee To Meet

The Oakwood Ad Hoc Park Development Committee is holding its second formal meeting in the Oakwood Clubhouse Library at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

.

The committee's objective is to develop a recommended plan for new IronOaks amenities on the vacant land between the Oakwood Clubhouse and the Golf Pro Shop. The initially developed amenity siting options will be reviewed for refinement. All interested IronOaks homeowners who would like to join in the second working meeting are invited to attend.

The Ad Hoc Park Committee was sanctioned by the HOA Board in November, 2014. Interested homeowners and the Board Liaison gathered November 25, 2014, to obtain relevant planning information and to tour the site. The first formal meeting was held on December 15, 2014. For more information please contact Cheri Buettner (480.895.0707) or Dick Johnson (480.895.8196).

Homeowner Satisfaction Survey

SECOND ANNUAL HOMEOWNER SURVEY COMING SOON                      We want to hear from you

Recently over 1900 homeowners responded to an Amenity Usage Survey. Once again, we are asking for your input to provide a "report card" of the performance of our HOA. The Homeowner Survey is like the one you completed last January, therefore, the results can be measured from year to year.

An important aspect of the IronOaks Master Plan is an annual survey of homeowners to ascertain current homeowner wants and needs and also to gather homeowners' evaluations of the board's and management's performance in implementing the components in the Master Plan. The survey will ask questions based on the Core Values of IronOaks:

1.  Preserve and enhance home values and quality of life.

2.  Ensure that financial plans and budgets measure performance and establish accountability.

3.  Conform to ethical practices that protect the long term interests of the community.

4.  Engage homeowners in key decisions in meaningful ways.

Based on homeowner input, management, and homeowner committees, the board will be able to utilize the survey results and compare them to last year. This will enable them to establish and adapt goals in accordance with the Master Plan.

If you receive Stay in the Loop, you will be receiving the survey by mid-January. Please check your inbox.

Please tell your friends and neighbors who do not have computer access to pick up paper copies of the survey at either the Ironwood or Oakwood Clubhouses. Since this survey is being conducted and tabulated by homeowner volunteers, we would greatly appreciate it if only those without computer access complete the paper survey.

Make sure your opinions are made known. Your input is needed. Complete the survey either online or by using a paper copy by February 11.

Due to the large response from previous seminars, the Conservation Committee has arranged for more "Caring for Your IronOaks Home" seminars to be held.

Mike Scully, owner of the new common-area landscaping service company, Sustainable Landscaping Services, will present seminars on caring for desert landscaping. Mike is highly respected  and has received numerous awards for his work. His knowledge of Arizona, our water, our plants and caring for them is vast. Even if you attended last year's presentations, you will learn something new from Mike.

We have made arrangements with Sunsets at Oakwood to open at 4:30 pm to accommodate early diners each evening. Since Tuesdays are comfort food night, there should be something delicious for everyone.

Reservations are required so we know how many chairs to set up. Please help us plan. Email ConservationSLS@gmail.com, tell us which sessions you want to attend, and names of the people you are registering.

These seminars were so popular last year we ran out of space. Please tell your neighbors and  friends to register early. The public is welcome, but IronOaks homeowners will have priority.

All seminars will begin at 6:00 pm in the Oakwood Ballroom.

Project Request Poll

The Board Wants Your Opinion

During the past year the IronOaks Board of Directors has received a number of Project Requests submitted by homeowners.

A Project Management Procedure was initiated by the Master Planning Committee and approved by the BOD. Relative prioritization, that was requested by homeowners of the projects is one of the steps in the procedure. The purpose of this poll is to receive that feedback from interested Homeowners.

The poll form was purposely designed to rank the projects in relation to each other. As discussed during various meetings, this poll is not a vote as to which project will be first. It is one method, among others, such as feasibility, potential costs, availability of space and expected usage, that will be used in analyzing whether the project should be considered and proceed to a full proposal stage.

The poll contains an abbreviated description of each project. We recommend that prior to completing the poll each homeowner review the full information for each project. This information is posted on the IronOaks website, and can be accessed via the "Project Request" button on the Owner Home page of the website or by clicking here

The poll will be available on the IronOaks website for thirty days with an end date of January 11, 2015. The results will be tallied and reported to the Homeowners, Board, and Staff.

Please click here for access to the poll.
