General Manager's Message

Announcement from the GM

I am sorry to inform you that Chef Mark has given notice. His last day will be December 17th.
I want you to know that I went to great lengths to get him to reconsider his decision, but to no avail. He has an exciting new opportunity and we wish him all the best. Mark has brought stability to the kitchen and quality food to our tables for the past year. He has also been instrumental in the planning for the 2015 financial recovery of our Food & Beverage Department.

Mark has agreed to remain in a part time capacity to help ensure that things run smoothly during this holiday season. We are currently recruiting to fill the two key positions in Food & Beverage, an Executive Chef and a Manager to oversee front of the house operations and costs.

Ad Hoc Oakwood Park Committee Meeting New

The newly formed Oakwood Ad Hoc Park Development Committee is holding its first formal meeting in the Oakwood Clubhouse Lounge at 3 pm on Monday, December 15, 2014.

The committee's objective is to identify and locate any proposed  new amenities on the vacant land between the Oakwood Clubhouse and the Golf Pro Shop. All interested IronOaks homeowners who would like to join in the working meeting are invited to attend.

The Park Development Committee was sanctioned by the HOA Board in November, 2014. Interested homeowners and the Board Liaison gathered November 25, 2014, to obtain relevant planning information and tour the site. For more information please contact Dick Johnson (480.895.8196).

Committee Meeting Update

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE DECEMBER UPDATE

Wayne Karp is leading the IronOaks website sub-committee that will be providing mini training sessions for homeowners on the use of the IronOaks website. In addition, this sub-committee met to provide ideas for changes to the website in order to make it easier to use. Any homeowner who is having difficulty with the website is encouraged to send comments to the Communications Department at communications@slhoa3.com

Seven televisions, approved by the HOA Board, will be placed in venues throughout IronOaks in January as another means of keeping homeowners informed. Continuous HOA information and updates will be provided on these television screens.

To keep homeowners apprised of committee activities, Mickey Bryant is soliciting information for monthly articles from each committee chair. The purpose is to briefly describe committee actions so homeowners are kept current on committee decisions.

The Info-Line is updated each Monday. Club leaders are invited to add their clubs' special events to this telephone line. Contact Mary Middleton  for further information.

The Welcome Committee will be hosting the next new homeowner dinner on March 31.

Event Contact and Operating Hours Info

Events Manager Contact & Operating Hours Infoevent4.jpg

Jackie Bolton, the new Association Events Manager, has already shown to be a great asset to the organization! She has jumped right in and begun to reach out to many members to finalize events! However, we do understand that there is still a backlog of missed calls, emails and communications that have accumulated in the absence of an Events Manager in the past two months. Jackie will continue to work diligently to catch us up! In the meantime we appreciate your patience. Jackie will be contacting event coordinators in the order of event, reaching out to those with an immediate event first.

Effective December 15, 2014, Jackie's hours of operations will be Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Afternoons are the best times to schedule meetings; however, she will remain flexible to your needs!  You may reach Jackie at 480-317-3609 or jbolton@slhoa3.com

Thank you again for your patience. Jackie is looking forward to working with you in the future!

Customer Satisfaction Month

Our core purpose is to create, protect and promote an active adult lifestyle community with resort style amenities and to enhance the community's value. Essentially, we are here to make a difference in the lives of our members. Every action or inaction creates the environment in which our members reside, dine, exercise and golf in! One can see how a customer service driven approach would be necessary!

Last October we embarked upon the first annual Customer Satisfaction Month to further facilitate the initiative of achieving our core purpose. This year, December will mark our second annual Customer Satisfaction Month!

The following bullet points detail how Customer Satisfaction Month will operate:

  • Success pins will be provided to all Staff Managers, Committee Chairs and Board Members, and will also be made available at amenity venues. Please look for them upon entry!
  • Each time you notice that an employee has gone above and beyond to provide the utmost guest satisfaction, present the employee with a pin.
  • At the end of the month, the employees' pins will be collected and tallied. The employee with the most pins will be selected as the 2015 Customer Satisfaction Champion! The Customer Satisfaction Champion will be announced at the January Board meeting as well as through Stay in the Loop.
  • This pertains to all staff members!

We appreciate and look forward to your participation!

Homeowner Preference Poll

The Board Wants Your Opinion

During the past year the IronOaks Board of Directors has received a number of Project Requests submitted by homeowners.

A Project Management Procedure was initiated by the Master Planning Committee and approved by the BOD. Relative prioritization, that was requested by homeowners, of the projects is one of the steps in the procedure. The purpose of this poll is to receive that feedback from interested Homeowners.

The poll form was purposely designed to rank the projects in relation to each other. As discussed during various meetings, this poll is not a vote as to which project will be first; it is one method, among others, such as feasibility, potential costs, availability of space and expected usage that will be used in analyzing whether the project should be considered and proceed to a full proposal stage.

The poll contains an abbreviated description of each project. We recommend that prior to completing the poll each homeowner review the full information for each project. This information is posted on the IronOaks website, and can be accessed via the "Project Request" button on the Owner Home page of the website or by clicking here

The poll will be available on the IronOaks website for thirty days with an end date of January 11, 2015. The results will be tallied and reported to the Homeowners, Board, and Staff.

Please click here for access to the poll.
