What is so special about the IronOaks Fitness Center?

 

YOU, the Homeowner, is the reason we are here. Our staff at the IronOaks Fitness Center is here to serve you in every way possible. In our large city there are numerous health clubs, workout studios and Recreation Centers within driving distance that we have access to. The following important items set us apart from other centers:

  • We have a team of highly qualified, educated and caring employees that want you to succeed in increasing your level of fitness and well-being.
  • We specialize in classes for all levels of fitness, from balance training and Yoga to Tabata and Strength and Core Circuit.
  • We provide educational classes and seminars explaining how to use equipment, how to do exercises properly, as well as topics presented monthly by a local Physical Therapist.
  • We offer over 45 classes per month to keep you fit.
  • Our degreed and certified personal trainers hold highly respected certifications in our industry.
  • We offer Silver Sneakers and Silver and Fit

IronOaks Yoga Classes 

Do you have tight hamstrings from walking or running? Is your Golf or tennis game suffering as a result of stiffness, pain or lack of flexibility? Do you need to work on balance?

     IronOaks Fitness Center offers several great options for Yoga classes. With several different levels, we will teach you basic yoga movements that will stretch and strengthen your muscles. Yoga improves your strength, flexibility and balance.

     Options include Beginner Yoga, Silver and Fit Yoga, Basic Yoga, and Intermediate Yoga. Our Silver and Fit Yoga class utilizes a chair to further assist in developing balance.

Tennis and Pickleball News

Tennis  

The mixed doubles tournament is in full swing. Come out and watch the Finals on Thursday Dec.11th at 12 noon. The Singles tournament starts Monday the 15th and continues Wednesday the 17th and Thursday the 18th. Entries will be taken through Friday, December 12th. Contact Josh Bates at jbates@slhoa3.com for more information. The men will be in full force for this event and will need a lot of support.

New Year's Eve Pot Luck at 1PM

Bring in the New Year by playing to the end of 2014.  Members and guests are welcome.  Contact Josh Bates at jbates@slhoa3.com to sign up. 

 

Pickleball  

The IronOaks Pickleball club had over 40 players in the holiday social event last Saturday. Special thanks to Gary Williams for hosting the event.

Organized play is going well. If you have not been rated, there will be another rating clinic for all IronOaks members in January. Please contact Josh Bates at jbates@slhoa3.com to sign up for the clinic. 

Hall of Fame Inductee, Anne Guerrant

 

The USTA Southwest Hall of Fame Selection Committee has announced the newly-elected class for 2014. Anne Guerrant, member of the IronOaks Racquet club, was tabbed for induction and was enshrined on November 15th. Anne is a former professional player and was ranked as high as number 11 in the world in singles, and won 4 WTA Tour Titles. She also won several doubles crowns including the Australian Open Doubles title in 1977. Anne continues to remain a passionate tennis player and advocate, recently winning the USTA Women's 65 Grass Court National Championship for the second consecutive year.

Aqua Fitness

 

This wonderful water workout includes cardio and resistance training to help increase your cardiovascular health and strength without impact to the joints.

 

Day: Fridays

Time: 9:00 am

Instructor: Pam Barker

All Fitness levels are welcome

Requirement: Must be comfortable being in 3-5 foot deep water. The December class will be at 9:00 am
