The BOD Goals Workshop

has been rescheduled for March 5th

at 9:00 am in the Oakwood Ballroom 

 

As stated in our HOA By-Laws in Article IV, Section 7 "Vacancies caused by any reason other than the expiration of a term of office shall be filled by vote of the majority of the remaining Directors on the Board......"  The announcement of the Board members' decision was intended to forestall the rumor mill and set the course for the remainder of the year. The Board will formally vote on the replacement director, the president and vice president appointments at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. In its current composition, the Board is comprised of three new members with three year terms, one member with two remaining years term, and two with a one year term. The replacement director will serve for the remainder of 2014. With the proposed selection, the Board is assured of a wealth of HOA history, experience and stability.

There is no legal requirement to name the candidate that placed next runner up in the previous election. The most recent occurrence of such vacancy was in fact filled by an appointment of an individual that had not been a candidate. The precedent has been set in this and other recent vacancies filled by previous Boards.    

The decision on the Change of Use will be made by our homeowners on February 17th. The Board will not change direction on this issue with any new director. Directors are directly enjoined from promoting a personal agenda and should be elected or appointed based on service and experience.
