Johns Hopkins University Press Publishes New Book by Muskingum Professor

The prestigious Johns Hopkins University Press recently published Johnny Appleseed and the American Orchard A Cultural History, by the Arthur G. Cole and Eloise Barnes Cole Distinguished Professor of American History, Dr. William Kerrigan. Kerrigan thoughfully illuminates the meaning of Johnny "Appleseed" Chapman's life's work and the environmental and cultural significance of the plant he propagated.

Lacrosse Adds to Varsity Sports Lineup
Fighting Muskies
Muskingum University will add men's and women's lacrosse as varsity sports beginning with the 2014-15 academic year. Muskingum joins seven other Ohio Athletic Conference schools in adding lacrosse, which has been the fastest-growing team sport in America over the past decade.

For the 2013-14 year Muskingum will field a team that will compete at the junior varsity level, in preparation for the NCAA competition the following year. A search is underway for head coaches for both teams, with the expectation of positions being filled by the summer of 2013.
