In the midst of all our diversity, our affirmation of pluralism, and our celebration of individual freedom of conscience in religious matters, what holds us all together? Is there an essential unity in our diversity? The service will investigate.

Thanks for Igniting our Community on Sunday |
The service and luncheon on Sunday March 3rd was such an inspiring community event. Abhi's service was inspiring as he expanded the meaning of stewardship beyond what we normally view as stewardship. The covenant between the stewards and the congregation set the stage for what can be some rewarding opportunities to get to know other members by sharing our stories about what is important to us.
Many thanks to Mary Thornton and Jacquie Gibbs for co-chairing the luncheon event and to Laura Gervasi and her team from Catering by Laura for the terrific meal. And thanks to all of the 212 members of our community who attended - showing us what it truly is to have a community ignited!
And appreciation is not complete without recognizing all of the UUC staff members that were there that contributed not only to that event - but to all of our activities throughout the year. We have a terrific group of people who serve as staff at the UUC and are the bedrock for everything we do. If you haven't met the people pictured here, I hope you will introduce yourself and say "Thank you" to them when you see them:

Children's Religious Enrichment
| |
Easter is just around the corner and we need volunteers to help stuff plastic eggs and help with our Easter activities. Sign up this Sunday in the Social Hall. Candy and small toys (stickers, bubbles etc...) donations are also needed. No chocolate or nuts please!
Please join our Religious Enrichment Program this Sunday as we develop friendships, learn more about Unitarian Universalism and have fun!
Our Nursery will keep our littlest UUs (ages 0-3) happy and busy with free play, music, and art. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten class will explore (through art and dance) the idea that there are cycles in our lives that everyone experiences, and the cycles continue beyond us. Our 1st-2nd class will explore how God is like the darkness around us. Our 3rd-5th grade class will conclude their unit on the Bible and ponder the question: "Why is the Bible so important today?" Our Middle School group will begin exploring Earth Based Religions Our High School youth group meets from 12-1pm for open discussion and continue working on their fundraiser project to benefit the Khasi Hills school. Are you looking for a way to give back to your spiritual home? The Religious Enrichment program has many volunteer opportunities available, so please contact Christine Pensa.UUC Religious Education Coordinator. |

We have an opportunity for a great kayaking adventure for those of you who can make a mid-week trip. I plan to go and all of you are welcome to come. The pricing will be similar to previous trips, but Mike has said for this trip 50% of the fees will be donated to Tampa Bay Watch, so this is a double benefit. Things are coming along nicely with a lot of help from our friends: Tarpon Springs UU has contributed $150, Don Pancho Villa is providing burritos at half price, and some of you have been generous with your cookies, money, and most importantly, time. Thanks!
However, we still need help with: Cookies (We still need a couple dozen more) We are getting
closer to covering the costs but still need a little
more. We will be collecting names of cookie bakers (or buyers) and money in our lunch pail on Sunday at the Social Justice table. For more information contact Donna.
