Message From The Board

Cassie & kids

Cassie & children

With the upcoming architect discussions, and so many changes in the air, the board's greatest concern is in transparency. As part of our commitment to continue our communication efforts with all of UUC's members and friends, here is the latest update on the board happenings. Remember, there is also a member's section on our website where you can access all the minutes of the past board meetings to keep fully up to date.

One of the ways that the board stays connected to the congregation is to invite our committee leaders to come to our meetings and report on the latest news. In this way, we hope to provide support and information to the many factions we have here at UUC. Our last board meeting was on November 14, 2012.

--Cassandra Moll-Alderman

Our next UUC Humanist meeting will be Sunday, December 16, at 12:30 in the Octagon at the Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater church. This book connects the dots of humanism from the ancient Greeks (e.g. Epicurus,) through Roman and Medieval Europe, to the Enlightenment. This will be a very interesting talk about the birth of rational empirical thought, its life, and growth. There will be plenty of time for Q & A and comments.

Ibsen's "A Doll's House"

We've come a long way since Ibsen stood up for women's rights, but we've hardly gone the whole distance. Until we do, this important play will remain pertinent - and even obligatory. --Mark Lieb in Creative Loafing

Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece "A Doll's House" speaks just as powerfully today as it did nearly 150 years ago, questioning how we define ourselves as individuals and as a society in the face of the challenging realities of life.
