Message from Rev. Abhi Janamanchi |
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I feel moved to express my gratitude to all the members and friends who support UUC with their gifts of time, talent, and substance. In an uncertain economic climate, your financial commitment helps us meet our budgetary obligations and live out our mission. To all those who responded to our recent plea to follow through on your pledges of financial commitment, THANK YOU! And if you haven't yet responded, please consider doing so before the end of the calendar year. UUC continues to be one of the most vital and vibrant religious institutions in Tampa Bay and in the UUA. In a difficult world we endeavor daily to make a difference. It is within our capacity to add significantly to people's quality of life - aesthetically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. But that can't happen unless those whom we serve value the community enough to cultivate a close relationship with it. Times are tough and people's confidence in institutions generally is low. At moments, I too feel discouraged. But I am also buoyed by the integrity and faithfulness with which UUC goes about its business. As the holidays approach and you pause to reflect upon life's tangible and intangible gifts, take a moment to consider the spiritual community you have chosen and why it matters. In this season of thankfulness, we are grateful for you. Thank you for your gifts of time, talent, and treasure that strengthen Unitarian Universalism and our religious community. Happy Thanksgiving! With gratitude and appreciation,
Rev. Abhi Janamanchi |

Now You Can Make Online Payments to UUC |
Check out the 'PAY ONLINE' Quick Link at www.uuclearwater.org. This Quick Link allows you to securely pay UUC online for things like pledge payments, event tickets, registration fees, and even donations. The 'PAY ONLINE' Quick Link brings up the PayOrDonate Form where you indicate who you are, and the size and purpose of your payment. After you fill in the required information and proceed to MAKE PAYMENT button, two things happen. First, emails summarizing the information you entered are sent to you and to the UUC Office, and then you are taken to the secure Paypal website, where you complete the payment transaction. On the Paypal page, you select the method of payment, either by paying by credit card or by using your Paypal account, if you have one. The UUC office receives two emails right away, one from Paypal saying you had made a payment, and one generated by the PayOrDonate Form summarizing the information you had entered. A few days later, your payment will be transferred from Paypal to the UUC Bank Account. Further explanation and example |

This year the annual Mitten Tree tradition will start on Sunday, November 25th. We are supporting three different organizations. Homeless Emergency Project, Inc., Metro Wellness and Community Centers and The Shepherd Center of Tarpon Springs. Please pick up a mitten (or two) and have your gifts back by Sunday, December 9th, so the gifts can be distributed in a timely fashion. Please DO NOT WRAP YOUR GIFTS. Enclose wrapping paper with your gift and securely fasten your mitten to the bag so we get the right gifts to the right child. Make sure you check with the people by the tree and give us your name so we can keep track of the mittens. Thank you as always for your generosity. |

Join the TrUUbadores and Sing!
| |
TrUUbadores is an intergenerational performing group of parents, grandparents and their children. We provide a casual atmosphere to sing and play instruments for music which is highly accessible, engaging and fun for both young and old.
TrUUbadores performs about once a month and meets on Sunday mornings right before worship. Now, how convenient is that, right? We begin rehearsal at 9:45 and rehearse for about 30 or 35 minutes. We are having a special "Get to know TrUUbadores" during December. We will rehearse in the choral room at 9:45 a.m. on December 2nd and 9th and will play in worship for a very special Spirited Worship on December 16th. If you are interested, please plan to attend the Dec 2nd rehearsal.
I look forward to seeing you then! Blessed be and Shalom,
Dr. David Katz, Music Director

Green Team Notes
Please contact Dotti Doyle if you are interested in participating in new or existing green projects.
Learn to ride the bus this season to do your holiday shopping. Save gas, save energy, decrease pollution. We are planning a holiday shopping trip on Saturday, Dec 1st. Read on to find out how to join us.Economic Justice
If you would like to have a hand in the many projects the Economic Justice Team is undertaking, please email Donna .
The Economic Justice Team would like to thank the congregation for their support of our ministry to the migrant farm workers in Plant City. Due to your generosity, we were able to deliver hundreds of pounds of rice and beans to many of these hard-working people. As the nights get colder, we are once again asking your help in providing blankets for these families who live in very old mobile homes without heat or air conditioning. We will be collecting the blankets in the sanctuary. We recommend bringing queen size blankets, which will be delivered on Saturday December 15. Please let Harriet Ha-Sidi know if you would like to join us on that date or if you have any questions.
At Thanksgiving time we think a lot about food. This video from CIW (Coalition of Imokolee Workers) helps focus our attention on the Fair Food Program. We at UUC join with them in supporting this effort. http://www.change.org/petitions/publix-come-to-the-table-and-join-the-fair-food-program |
