This program was initially off to a great start, but over the years became diffcult to maintain and never reached the popularity we were hoping for it. As of August 31, 2014 members will no longer be able to earn credits for referring people to buy Horse Council BC Memberships. Any credits earned in 2014 will be used on 2015 memberships or they will be deleted. | |

Maple Ridge Equi-Sport Centre (MREC) was home for the 2014 BC Heritage Circuit Finals and all the qualified competitors that travelled from around the province to compete for their share of $10,000.00 in prize money. We were fortunate to have decent weather ( well, a little rain) for a fantastic weekend that had talented horses and riders taking part in Dressage, Show Jumping, Pleasure Driving, English Performance, Western Performance, and Gymkhana Division. In fact a few very versatile horses and riders participated in almost all of the disciplines! (read more)

For the very first time, a Para-Reining clinic and demonstration class was featured at the West Coast Classic July 10-13 at Chilliwack Heritage Park in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The educational seminar and Para-Reining demonstration classes took place on Saturday, July 13. This also marked the first Para-Reining class to ever be held within the Canadian para-equestrian system, and aids in the effort to bring the discipline for equestrians with disabilities as a fully recognized sport in 2015. Para-Reining offers riders of all skill-sets and levels of physical and mental ability the opportunity to compete and show on Reining horses. Para-Equestrian activities have been on the international stage for more than a decade and Para-Reining finally offers riders the opportunity to show at the high performance level in a western discipline. The Para-Reining movement is driven by collaboration between AQHA; Equine Canada's Canadian Reining Committee, the official sport affiliate for the western discipline of Reining within the international structure of horse sports;; and the National Reining Horse Association.
