Five Ways to Get Help With Your FAFSA
1. Attend a College Goal Maine Event
College Goal Maine is an opportunity for families to get free help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is required for most college students who plan to pay for college with the help of federal and state grants, scholarships, work study, and loans. You can also enter to win one of twenty $500 scholarships at an event or from the Virtual FAFSA lab.
2. Use FAME's Virtual FAFSA Lab
Can't attend a College Goal Maine event? File your FAFSA online with help from our virtual lab. Available 24 hours a day, seven days per week, the virtual FAFSA lab offers FAME's expert help online.
3. Contact FAME
If you have any questions about the FAFSA, you can reach FAME's customer service team Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 1-800-228-3734 or education@famemaine.com.
4. Contact Your High School Counselor or College Financial Aid Office
Your high school counselor knows you and may be able to help or connect you to someone who can. It is also a good idea to reach out to the financial aid office at the school(s) you want to attend. That school(s) is the best resource when it comes to understanding deadlines and requirements.
