Every summer I have the fortunate opportunity to stay in a Beautiful Captain's House in Maine, and spend time with a part of my family I don't get to see often enough.  I have just come back from there, so I feel a bit outta the loop, coming back to work. Gratefully there are no TVs or computers where we stay, but it appears much has happened last week.

I was deeply saddened by the loss of Robin Williams.  He is a hero of mine.  I loved that he made it alright for me to be a weirdo, (my garden can attest to that). He helped me laugh at myself and to accept others for their differences.  He also made me laugh, the kind of laugh, where your shoulders just shake, and you can't stop, and no noise can come out, and you can't take a breath, then finally a big cry and gasp of air, followed by happy tears streaming down my face. I'm sure some of you can relate....

I am grateful that he was on this earth, to share the God-given talent he had, with us. I am also sad, and I will miss his kinetic, wonderful, sometimes childlike antics.

I am also grateful to come home to such a beautiful place like Cape Cod and some of the wonderful people I work with.

I missed this event but I am catching up with great photos taken by Amelia Lynch.

Life is difficult, we can all attest to that.  Enjoy the moments you have, and tell the ones you care about, how you feel.  Enjoy a dog wash or a beautiful bunch of flowers. Do something every day to lift that inside spirit, even if it's just a hug.... life is short, make it worth the trip.
