The IPCA On Facebook
The IPCA has a vibrant online community, as polymer clay enthusiasts from around the world have taken to sharing their thoughts, ideas, and projects on Facebook. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but here are a few highlighted groups: International Polymer Clay Association is the official facebook group for our guild. Whether it be a question about polymer, a new twist on an old technique, or a discovery of craft treasure in the bottom of the bead bucket, the IPCA facebook group is a great place to participate. This is an open group that anyone can join. IPCA What's On Around The World is a Facebook Group dedicated to sharing information on upcoming classes, exhibits, workshops, and events. This is an open group that anyone can join. | | |

GUILD SPOTLIGHT
Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild
 | | Tallahassee is filled with sweet scent when the magnolias bloom. |
The Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild was founded in 2006 through the matchmaking efforts of Karen Woods in Tampa, FL. Karen had seen a posting I had made on a polymer clay Yahoo Group. Karen contacted her friend and fellow Tallahasseean Ellen Rumsey Bellenot and 'set us up' to meet. A few weeks after that initial email exchange, Ellen and I held an organizational meeting and started advertising the newly formed Guild.
We've worked hard to build our Guild Library, which is open to all current members. The library includes books, DVDs, and magazines of interest to our members. As a benefit of membership, we organize bulk buying events so we can receive price discounts on clay supplies.

Progress & Possibilities 2012
|
 | Landscape Box by Helen Wyland-Malchow
Winner, Functional Objects, Intermedeiate Level
|
Progress and Possibilities 2012, this year's edition of our time-honored online exhibition, is in its final planning stages. The Call for Entry will be posted October 15 on the IPCA website, and the deadline for submissions will be Nov. 15. Winners of both the juried exhibition and the Members' Choice competition will be announced Jan. 6, 2013.
Once again, categories will be defined by the type of object and the artist's level of expertise. The level of expertise has been expanded to four - Beginner, Intermediate, Proficient, and Professional.
You must be a current member of IPCA to enter. The piece(s) you submit must have been created in the year 2012 and must not have been entered in previous competitions of any sort. The work must be made up of at least 75% visible polymer clay and the concept, design and execution of the artwork must be solely yours.
We are looking for the original and the innovative, however you define those qualities! The mission of Progress & Possibilities is to show not only how far our medium has come but to give some clues as to where it will go from here.
Now is the time to tweak your designs, refine your techniques, and begin working on those amazing art works that will make this the best Progress & Possibilities ever!
