---------------------------------------- IN NCJW/CLEVELAND'S HISTORY In 1919 the National Council of Jewish Women also organized the Big Sisters program to assist isolated young girls seeking help. They placed these girls in Martha House (Named for Martha M. Wolfenstein), helped them work through some of their problems, and found them employment. (n.d., Western Reserve Historical Society) |

Message from . . .
Mindi Axner, Executive Director
I am so excited to share with you that after months of planning and redesigning Cleveland Section will have an easy to navigate updated website as of May 8th (just a week away). I hope you will take time to visit the site and mark it as a "favorite" so you can refer to it for the latest information on the happenings of NCJW/Cleveland. To encourage you to visit the site, we have a fun challenge...some where on the site you will be able to find the name of the featured speaker for the Opening Meeting scheduled for October 2nd. Once you find the name of that person, email her name to Julie Hayes directly from the website and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three great prizes.
On behalf of those of us that worked on the new site, we hope you find it valuable. As always, I welcome any feedback.
Mindi

EVENING BRANCH
Co-Presidents
Sandra Arnovitz & Arielle Cohen
As our term as co-presidents of Evening Branch comes to an end, we reflect on all the positive ways that NCJW/Cleveland has enhanced our lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to have served with such a great group of women and for supporting causes that we so believe in. The friendships that have transpired are certain to grow as we continue our journey with NCJW. We will both remain active Evening Branch members and serve on the cabinet. Arielle will also serve on the Section Board.
So, as we leave the role of co-presidents, we are left with conflicting emotions. Sadness of leaving behind our position and the excitement of seeing what the future holds. We are looking forward to working with Wendi Shapera and Amy Zlotnik as the next Evening Branch co-presidents. May we go from strength to strength.
Sandy and Arielle
