Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Happy 2013! For the new year, NCJW/Cleveland wishes you a full life; one filled with laughter, love, and meaning. And as you make your many new year's resolutions, we hope you will consider including "volunteering" on your list.

Last year, thousands of women, families, and children's lives in the Cleveland area were made better by the hours you spent working to help the community. What I've learned during my six months on the job is that often the person who gains the most from their volunteer experience is not the person accepting the help; it's the person giving it. Volunteering gives you the ability to step briefly outside of your own life. It gives you the opportunity to experience the unfiltered glee of a small child as she learns a new word; or understands the meaning of a difficult text. It gives you the chance to learn from, and laugh with, an older citizen who has ninety-five years worth of stories to share. It gives you a chance to feel the connectedness of the world.

At NCJW/Cleveland, we have so many volunteer activities we'd love to connect you to this year. To learn more and to get involved, give me a call any time at (216) 378-2204 ext. 105, email me at rbrouman@ncjwcleveland.org

or simply stop by the office. My door is always open!

Wishing you all the best,

Rebecca Meiser Brouman
