Alvertha Penny
This is an exciting time of year for us, full of events and activities.
We are seeking nominations for our first philanthropic awards to recognize the meaningful work of our younger community leaders. In addition, two upcoming events build on our three-year Males Overcoming and Reaching Excellence (M.O.R.E) initiative. On February 14, we will host a special town hall meeting at the Crescent Theatre, "Boys Interrupted" (find out more below). Our Annual Meeting on March 21 will feature the esteemed Dr. Freeman Hrabowski. The M.O.R.E. initiative is designed to encourage young men ages 8-18 to stay in school, go to college, enter a vocation, and get involved with the community. Your gifts to the Community Endowment Fund will be used to help build coalitions to address the challenges boys and young men face in achieving their potential, living healthy lives and contributing to the betterment of their communities.
