Give The Gift That Will Keep Giving Forever
Perfect For Any Occasion

A donation in someone's honor is a great gift for that person who has everything.

The Community Foundation of South Alabama provides a method for you to support the finest nonprofit organizations and charitable causes.

Anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays are all perfect opportunities to make charitable gifts in the honor or memory of someone you love.
Charitable Deduction Changes On The Horizon

Potential Higher Taxes In 2013

You can establish a charitable fund today and receive an immediate charitable tax deduction with the ability to recommend grants over time.

When considering your charitable giving at year-end, it makes sense to make a significant charitable gift in 2012 before the potential opportunity for a larger income tax deduction disappears.

If Congress does not make major decisions on taxes during the short legislative session after the November election, there will be dramatic tax increases on January 1, 2013.

What Is An "Endowed" Fund?

A Charitable Fund That Exists Forever

An endowed fund is established by someone who wishes to create a lasting legacy in support of their community or a cause they care about.

Endowed funds are invested so the fund balance continues to grow in perpetuity.

A portion of the fund balance is used annually (in the form of grants) to support causes specified by you.

Because only a portion of the fund is granted each year, endowed funds are established with the expectation that the fund will exist forever.

Today's Decisions Have A Profound Impact On The Lives Of Tomorrow

Your Support Is Crucial

Without the right tools, it's difficult to make choices that result in a healthy lifestyle and promising future.

Young Male Initiative 1-12

For many young men, misguided decision-making often results in a life plagued by violence, drugs, sexual misbehavior, and even suicide.

For the more than 50,000 young men in Baldwin, Clarke, Escambia, and Mobile counties, which have the State's highest instances of teenage births and juvenile crimes, the story is no different.

Your generous contribution can help the Foundation work with nonprofit organization to build coalitions to address problems affecting young men ages 8 to 18.

Give today to the Males Overcoming and Reaching Excellence initiative and help our young men make better lifestyle choices.

Foundation Grant  Funds New Art Program At
The Eastern Shore Art Center
Senior-To-Senior Program Bridges The Generation Gap

Earlier this year the Eastern Shore Art Center received a grant from The Community Foundation of South Alabama to support the Senior-to-Senior program, a new initiative designed to provide high school seniors with the opportunity to build relationships with senior citizens through various art projects.

The grant was made possible through the Clyde C. Snyder Art and Classical Music Fund, to promote public interest in the arts and classical music.

More than 40 students from Baldwin County High School participated in the Senior-to-Senior program, which helped them acquire the skills necessary to provide art lessons to residents of assisted living facilities.

The students learned how to prepare art lessons and teach others. They donated more than 700 volunteer hours and worked with 480 senior citizens.

Baldwin County High School seniors were led across the generational divide by Easter Shore Arts Center Director, Nancy Fisher.

From planning art activities to scheduling meetings, she was an inspiration to all those involved. The lives of both the high school students and the senior citizens have been enriched through this unique experience.
