Twenty Conferences Pay 100% of General Church Apportioned Funds in 2012 Overall Payout Reaches 90% for the First Time Since 2001
The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) reports 20 annual conferences paid 100% of their general Church apportioned funds in 2012 and overall apportionment payout reached 90%, the highest level the general Church has reached since 2001. Job Announcement
The West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church seeks a Director of Leadership Formation and Ministry Support. Responsibilities include strengthening the leadership of the Annual Conference through effective continuing formation practices and the administration of credentialing for United Methodist laity and clergy. We Remember: Rev. Junior Dennis Shaffer
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wayside United Methodist Church, Vienna, W.Va., with the Rev. Dr. T. Patrick Kerr, the Rev. Dr. Paul Russell, and the Rev. Dr. Ken Krimmel officiating. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va., and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Contributions may be made in Rev. Shaffer's memory to the Wayside Building Fund or the Good Samaritan Center at Wayside UM Church, 3001 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV 26105.
