Director of Connectional Ministries announces retirement

Dr. William H. Wilson, director of connectional ministries and assistant to the bishop for the West Virginia Annual Conference, announced his retirement effective July 1, 2013.

In a January 3 letter to resident bishop, Sandra Steiner Ball, Wilson said that he's thankful for the opportunity he has had to serve in ministry for 40 years. "My ministry has included the local church, and hospital chaplaincy," he said. "As well as time on the cabinet as a district superintendent, and nine years in my current role."

Wilson will be honored along with other retiring clergy at the 2013 Annual Conference Session, which takes place June 6 - 9 at Wesley Chapel in Buckhannon, W.Va. He has accepted Bishop Steiner Ball's invitation to preach at this year's memorial service during conference June 6.
