Special Offering for the Greater New Jersey Conference
Many annual conferences in the northeastern jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church suffered damage after a massive superstorm named Sandy struck the region October 29. In a recent meeting, the NEJ college of bishops recognized that the Greater New Jersey Conference was the hardest hit.
"For this reason, the NEJ College of Bishops are initiating a special offering for the New Jersey Annual Conference," said Sandra Steiner Ball, resident bishop of the West Virginia Annual Conference.
Bishop Steiner Ball asks that local churches in the West Virginia Annual Conference consider a special offering on December 9 or 16 designated for New Jersey Hurricane Relief.
Please make checks payable to the Conference Treasurer. Church remittance forms should be designated to fund number 800 and mailed to the Conference Treasurer's office, P.O. Box 2469, Charleston, WV, 25329 no later than December 31, 2012.

Glory Sighting: Kids offer Christmas to others at Duffey Memorial
A Glory Sighting is God at work in the world. It can be seen in baptisms; but also in nature. It might be an after school program that feeds kids in the community - or a Christmas gift ministry! Send us a photo and/or a story about a glory sighting in your church and ministry, and we'll feature it in the e-news. You'll also have our thanks and we'll send you a 2GB jump drive. Email us at wvumc@wvumc.org.Apportionments = Glory Sightings
A framework, a foundation. That's what apportionments provide to ministries in local churches and communities around the world.
The connectional system of the United Methodist Church helps us do collectively what no church can do alone! A secure foundation allows ministry - and Glory Sightings - to grow and flourish so that more people can be reached in the name of Jesus Christ. Year-end remittances must be submitted to the office of the Conference Treasurer P.O. Box 2469, Charleston, WV, 25329 by Jan. 4, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

Advent Resource from Bishop Steiner Ball
"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called, "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9: 2,6
