Videographers needed at St. Luke's! 

Videography here at St Luke's

For quite a while now our neighbors in Jamestown have been able to join us for worship through our videotaping of the 10 AM worship service.  That's been primarily my responsibility.  However, my work with the diocese is now going to take me away from St Luke's on many Sundays. So at St Luke's we are looking for volunteers to take over this outreach ministry of the congregation.  

 

The requirements are simple:

  • You need to be able to stand for about an hour                                               (Most Sundays you'll have time to sit)
  • You will need to learn how to run the system                                                         (it's not that difficult and I'll train you)
  • You must be willing to commit to being there on your Sunday or                 finding a replacement.
That's pretty much it.  It would be great to find several folks who could rotate through a weekly schedule.  This is for anyone at any age, from teenage to senior adult members able to do the job.

 

Please contact the parish office at 483-6405 with your interest or speak to Jay Phillippi personally .... and soon! My new schedule with the Diocese kicks in on the second Sunday of September.  I'll be gone all of September and October and about half of November as it stands right now.

Brownie Scout Troop for girls in 2nd and  3rd grades will have a parent and daughter meeting on Monday September 16th at 6pm in St. Luke's Undercroft (please use 4th Street entrance closest to the alley). The meetings will be held the first and third Monday of the Month beginning in October. Any interested parents please contact Kim Scott 485-8195.

Financial Peace

Beginning September 11th, for nine consecutive Wednesday evenings, Grace Church, Randolph, NY, will once again be hosting the Dave Ramsey "Financial Peace University."   A Bible-based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God's way.  There is no "right " person to attend FPU, only those who want to grow in the spiritual and practical control of their money, instead of it controlling them.
