Fictional Friends

Fictional Friends next "read" will be "Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton.

We'll meet Monday, October 21 at 7 p.m. in the church library to discuss.

Mark your calendars and let Catherine Way know if you'd like to purchase a copy of the book.

Prayer of Self-Dedication, BCP 832

Almighty and eternal God, so draw our hearts to you, so guide our minds, so fill our imaginations, so control our wills, that we may be wholly yours, utterly dedicated to you; then use us, we pray, as you will, and always for your glory and the welfare of your people; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Prayer for calling a Rector,

 BCP 818

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on this your St. Luke's Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive the faithful pastor you have chosen, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

safe church Are you trying to figure out when to attend the Safe Church Trainings required by our Diocese?   They will be offered several times throughout the coming year, beginning with this one in September ...
Safe Church trainings for both Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Adult Sexual Harrassment/Misconduct Prevention are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Mark's, Orchard Park.
Financial Peace

Beginning September 11th, for nine consecutive Wednesday evenings, Grace Church, Randolph, NY, will once again be hosting the Dave Ramsey "Financial Peace University."   A Bible-based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God's way.  There is no "right " person to attend FPU, only those who want to grow in the spiritual and practical control of their money, instead of it controlling them.
NINE WEEKS!? This sounds like quite a time commitment, but the reality is that you will form a community of committed financial friends and come to a whole new understanding of money in your life.  There is also a fee to purchase the materials for the program.   Call to register at 359-7135 for
