Singing in Harmony with Lauren CarleyTreat yourself to a week of harmony
singing at The Bishop's Ranch (north of Healdsburg), August 15 -20, 2010.

Joy of Singing instructor)
is offering a 5-night, 6-day singing retreat. The music is accessible to all,
no audition or expertise necessary, just the desire to come together in a
beautiful place to sing, hear concerts, eat fresh food, and let your thoughts
roam. We will prepare Appalachian, sea chantey, southern gospel,
contemporary American and European sacred semi-classical. Grace Cathedral Choir
of Boys retreat is concurrent with ours, and we have been invited to listen to
them sing Evensong (Anglican liturgy of Evening Prayer) each day.
The cost for instruction, food, and

WPA Bus Tour with Gray Brechin and Harvey SmithSaturday, July 17, 2010

Meet in front of Bill Graham Auditorium (99 Grove Street, San Francisco), bus will return to Civic Center area)
Join Gray Brechin and Harvey Smith as they travel through history on a bus tour of historic sites built by unionized labor. You will learn about the major contribution workers made during the depression era of the New Deal program. They will discuss 75 years of the WPA.

Drawing from the natural world and from personal objects of your choice, this class investigates drawing as a way of understanding and interpreting the world around you. Take advantage of the UC Berkeley campus environment while working with a professional Bay Area artist to create large-scale drawings at the museum, and consider the special nature of the transformation between seeing and depicting. (Butcher paper will be provided. Please bring any non-oil-based drawing materials that you prefer. No paint, please.)
