Dear PDL Families,

 

We are in single digit countdown for our 2013-14 school year.  I visited every classroom during Open House and the classrooms and work samples were incredible.  The achievements and accomplishments of our students are tremendous! I am very proud of our staff and students and greatly appreciate all of the parents' and volunteers' continuous efforts and supports that have helped us achieve this success.   There are many opportunities for students to continue their success and practice their skills throughout the summer.  The Encinitas and Carlsbad libraries have wonderful free reading programs and our district will have computer programs available for student use.  There will be a letter included in your child's report card that will provide you with the user name/password and description of the different programs.  It is very important that you do not help your children with these programs since they will be individualized to their specific needs and will allow your children to refine and reinforce their learning. I hope you will join me tomorrow beginning at 7:00am for Donuts for Dads and wish all of you a happy Father's Day.  In addition, our last All School Community Assembly begins at 8:15am and our third grade students will be performing.
