Jay Dackman, a local attorney, founded The Buddy Foundation of Maryland after he helped an employee pay for a very expensive surgery for her dog. BCF VP of Community Investment Danista Hunte selected to lead Child First Authority
We congratulate Danista Hunte, BCF VP, Community Investment, who has been named executive director of Child First Authority. We are happy to see one of our leaders move into this important role, continuing her work for systemic change for Baltimore's children. Kevin Griffin Moreno will serve as Interim Director of Community Investment, and Billie Marie Malcolm has joined the BCF staff as Education Program Officer.

BCF announces $95,000 in grants to Judy Centers through Under Armour/Fight for Children program
Through a special partnership with Under Armour and Fight for Children, BCF offered a special grant program to Judy Center coordinators to help them expand or execute special projects to improve school readiness this year. Six projects, including a "walking school bus," were funded.
