FEATURE STORY
Inspiring Donors by Investing in Youth

Dr. Carlessia Hussein is a health equity expert and consultant, with a deep commitment to helping youth of color in Baltimore. When she was deciding where to give back, BCF was a natural fit because of its work in neighborhoods and education. Read more about Hussein's charitable work in this special story from our annual report, coming soon.

20 Minute Update: Judy Centers

Judy Centers are neighborhood hubs which connect children and families to services so that children are ready for school. On Sept. 21, dial in to hear BCF's Cristina Lopez and Niki Venuti discuss how Judy Centers get kids ready for school. Get the call-in information at www.bcf.org/20MinuteUpdate.
Another $160,000 in Grants to Local Organizations Help Rebuild Baltimore
In August, BCF awarded $160,000 in grants from The Fund for Rebuilding Baltimore to organizations doing everything from providing older adults in West Baltimore transportation services to helping low income residents get access to civil legal services. A detailed list of current grants and archives of previous updates are available on our website.
Make a Difference: BMA's Center for People & Art
The Baltimore Museum of Art is building on its legacy as an institution of cultural education with its new Center for People & Art, a 5,550 sq. ft. suite of five interconnected spaces located adjacent to the Museum's East Entrance. It serves first-time visitors and experienced museum-goers, school children and teachers, as well as families and cultural tourists. You can give to this expansion of the BMA through your donor-advised fund (log into Donor XPress and choose the BMA Funding Opportunity) or by emailing Judith Gibbs, BMA Deputy Director for Development.
