The Wright Family Foundation: Effecting Change by Reacting to Community Needs 


Vernon Wright's father took an early retirement to focus on philanthropy. Though he died shortly after retirement, The Wright Family Foundation continued on under his son Vernon Wright's supervision. 

 

Today, with the help of Baltimore-based executive director Mari Beth Moulton, the Wright Family Foundation works with BCF to react to the needs of Baltimore and affect real change in the community. Read more about the Wright Family Foundation's commitment to Baltimore. 

20 Minute Update: Understanding Social Capital

Fund for Rebuilding Baltimore Grants $203,000 to 11 Non-Profits in July 
BCF has completed a third round of grants from The Fund for Rebuilding Baltimore to 11 non-profit organizations totaling over $203,000. Since the fund opened in April, donors have made gifts and pledges of $746,000 to help address immediate needs and build a stronger Baltimore for the future. Funding Opportunity: KIPP Gap-Closure Fund
Students from KIPP Baltimore college-preparatory public charter schools in Baltimore often are admitted to elite private and parochial high schools on scholarships, but still need to close a financial gap of  $2,500 to $5,000 to attend. A contribution to KIPP's Gap-Closure Fund can have an incredible impact that keeps a KIPP alumnus on the path to and through college.

Through November 11, donations to the KIPP Gap-Closure Fund will be doubled thanks to a generous donor. Give through your donor-advised fund (Donor XPress login) or directly to KIPP.
