FEATURE STORY

A Portrait of Giving:
Donors Rallying to Rebuild Baltimore

Hundreds of individual and corporate donors, from Columbia to Doha (Qatar), have made gifts of amounts ranging from $25 to $100,000 to The Fund for Rebuilding Baltimore, which BCF started April 28 in response to the unrest that affected Baltimore City.

The comments that donors have shared with BCF with their gifts show true passion for Baltimore and helping it rebuild both physically and emotionally. To date, the fund has raised almost $500,000 for this purpose.

In Case You Missed It: 20-Minute Update on Rebuilding Baltimore

On Wednesday, BCF Senior Program Officer Kevin Griffin Moreno and Vice President of Development Ralph Serpe discussed fundraising, grant making and the future of The Fund for Rebuilding Baltimore during BCF's monthly 20 Minute Update call. Listen to the entire conversation on our website.

417 Baltimore City Children Head to Summer Camp

417 children in the Baltimore area will have the chance to attend a summer camp this year after the Baltimore Community Foundation awarded $112,027 to 15 regional camps from The Children's Fresh Air Society Fund. The grants, made in the form of "camperships," or scholarships which help defray the cost of camp fees and tuition, will give disadvantaged and disabled Baltimore-area children the benefits of a summer camp experience.
Give a Lasting Gift to Baltimore -- and Earn a State Tax Credit

A new Maryland state tax credit called "Endow Maryland" rewards donors who help build permanent charitable funds at qualified community foundations in Maryland. Your gift of between $500 and $2,500 to our Civic Leadership Endowment or Invest in Baltimore Endowment may qualify for a 25% state tax credit on your 2015 tax return. Available tax credits are running out, so we encourage you to contact us soon about making an Endow Maryland gift. Find out how to make a tax-credit-qualified gift to BCF.
