Appellate Judicial Commission Selects Panels for Supreme Court and Southern District
The Appellate Judicial Commission met in Jefferson City last week for the purpose of interviewing and selecting panels to submit to Governor Nixon for recent vacancies on Missouri's Supreme Court and the Southern District Court of Appeals. The nominees submitted for the Supreme Court vacancy due to the retirement of Judge William Ray Price Jr., are the Honorable Michael W. Manners, Stanley J. Wallach, and Paul C. Wilson. Media Release
The nominees submitted for the Southern District vacancy due to the retirement of the Judge Robert Barney are the Honorable David A. Dolan, John E. Price, and the Honorable Mary W. Sheffield. Media Release
The governor has 60 days to select one member of the panel to fill the vacancies. Should he fail to do so, the Missouri Constitution directs the commission to make the appointment.
The Appellate Judicial Commission is chaired by the Honorable Richard Teitelman, of the Missouri Supreme Court. Also on the commission are Thomas M. Burke of St. Louis, Cheryl M. Darrough of Columbia, John T. Gentry of Springfield, J.R. Hobbs of Kansas City, Donald L. Ross of St. Louis and John D. Wooddell of Springfield.
