Wishing you a Happy, Healthy Holiday Season
As the holiday season gets into full gear, we wanted to thank you for your readership and your support over the past year.
As Helen Keller noted, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."

So give beautiful things this holiday season to make your neighborhood a kinder, less lonely place.

Help Transform Lives this Holiday Season

building connections that older adults and persons with disabilities need to age and thrive in their own homes and neighborhoods.

If you're able, please donate to help us connect even more neighbors and to keep our programs and activities accessible to all.

News and Updates
Food Networks Change and Grow in December

food network volunteers with grocery boxes The volunteers for the OMI Food Network packed their last delivery at Temple United Methodist Church last week and are seeking a new site in the neighborhood.  This dedicated group of volunteers have not missed a delivery since the program began in 2011 and will be working with CLC and the San Francisco and Marin Food Bank to keep deliveries coming over the holiday season.

In addition to regular deliveries in OMI, Parkmerced and Bayview, CLC is helping coordinate the December 17th delivery of 550 turkeys in those communities, thanks to the generosity of Glide Food Program for the 3rd year in a row. Over 20 local groups are working together to meet the growing need for nourishing food.

If you have suggestions for neighborhood sites, have questions, or need more information, contact Marie at (415) 821-1003 x1 or

What Will It Take for Seniors to Survive in San Francisco?
old man pushing cart loaded iwth recycling In the Mission neighborhood, an elder, bent and weary, stops every few feet to catch his breath as he wheels a grocery cart laden with cans and bottles to a far away recycling center. That is his survival plan.  What's yours?  If you live on a fixed income and all the expenses in your life keep going up, why is your plan? We think that there needs to be more employment opportunities for older adults and people with disabilities so that we can age in our own homes and communities.  If this is an issue of interest to you, contact Marie at marie@sfcommunityliving.org

Community Living Campaign Logo on green background

The nonprofit Community Living Campaign (CLC) has been working since 2007 to deliver programs and rally advocates who want to live in communities where people are less isolated and everyone is called to contribute.

CLC reweaves the relationships that people need to age and thrive in their own communities. We believe that seniors and people with disabilities are their own valuable assets -- they already know what their community needs. Working with these neighbors and local organizations, CLC develops free and low-cost programs to:

  • Reduce isolation
  • Increase access to technology
  • Promote advocacy and other skills
  • And make new friends

Because aging in community requires change at all levels, we also advocate for better, more realistic local, state and national government policies and funding.
