Vial of Life Project Has a Renewed Vitality

vial of baggie iwth sticker Many of us have seen signs of the Vial for Life Project: bright red stickers on the front door and on a baggie on the refrigerator. This simple little idea has helped tens of thousands of people get better emergency care by providing paramedics and other health professionals with important information about prescription drug, allergies, and emergency contactsCLC is working to expand awareness about this simple tool through our Connections for Health Aging Workshops and our partnership with the California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA).
Check out our blog for more information and to print your own form and sticker.

CLC's Annual Benefit Highlights
It Was An Honor (and Fun, too!)

Hadley Hall
Marie JObling, Hadley Hall, Debby Satten and Davide Knego with awards
Geoff Hoyle with violin

On September 18, CLC awarded the third Norma Satten Community Service Innovation Award to Hadley Dale Hall at our annual benefit. A wonderful crowd joined us to recognize Hadley's long history of innovation and leadership in the field of elder care and long-term care services and support. His work, and the work of the many others he mentored and inspired will ensure that seniors and people with disabilities have real options to age in community.

The event was a great success, filled with thoughts about friendship, leadership, mentorship and the future ahead. With funds raised, the Community Living Campaign will continue to foster, support and honor the efforts of other leaders who pursue aging with dignity and human rights. If you'd like to add your support, you can donate here.

Another highlight was Red Bottoms (aka Geoff Hoyle) who mingled and chatted with folks at the tables before taking the stage to make us smile.

You can view pictures of the event on our blog, and for more about Hadley, the Community Living Campaign, and the Norma Satten Award, download our program book here (PDF).

Thanks to Benefit Sponsors & Auction Donors

This special benefit - and CLC's work - would not be  possible without the generous donations from our major sponsors: Kaiser Permanente, the Denebeim Family, the Satten Family, On Lok/30th Street Senior Center, Openhouse and Bethany Center Senior Housing, along with  all of our other supporters. And many thanks to the generous San Francisco restaurants of all types who donated gift certificates for our SF-wide Silent Auction. Please patronize their businesses and let them know you appreciate their support

Community Living Campaign Logo on green background

The nonprofit Community Living Campaign (CLC) has been working since 2007 to deliver programs and rally advocates who want to live in communities where people are less isolated and everyone is called to contribute.

CLC reweaves the relationships that people need to age and thrive in their own communities. We believe that seniors and people with disabilities are their own valuable assets -- they already know what their community needs. Working with these neighbors and local organizations, CLC develops free and low-cost programs to:

  • Reduce isolation
  • Increase access to technology
  • Promote advocacy and other skills
  • And make new friends

Because aging in community requires change at all levels, we also advocate for better, more realistic local, state and national government policies and funding.
